I am posting the following message on behalf of my good friend, mentor and colleague Patricia Barnett:
After thirteen years as the Andrew W. Mellon Chief
Librarian, Pat Barnett retired from her leadership role as the Andrew W. Mellon
Chief Librarian of the Frick Art Reference Library. Her accomplishments under
three directors of The Frick Collection redefined the Library for the
twenty-first century as a welcoming center for research, expanded services and
resources, reached out to a more diverse research community, and engaged with
peer institutions in partnerships to confront the new technological challenges.
Pat intends to enter the next phase of her professional career by serving the
broader art library and information communities through consulting. She can be
contacted at [log in to unmask].

Chief Librarian Emerita of the Frick Art Reference Library
I am sure that I lead a very large chorus of art librarians in wishing Pat every success as she enters the next phase in her career and in thanking her for her years of hard work and service at the Frick Art Reference Library and in the profession at large. I had the pleasure of working with her at the Frick for three years—she has always been and will continue to be a role model for me and everyone else who has had the good fortune to work for or with her.
