You are warmly invited to attend Connections a national conference on the history of women and art in Canada.
Opening with a keynote address by Dr. Ruth Phillips, Canada Research Chair in Modern Culture at Carleton University, the conference will bring together 39 university scholars, curators and archivists from across the country to discuss a wide range of women's contributions to the cultural and material history of Canada. Papers will address a variety of media including craft, illustration, architecture, photography and painting, with an emphasis on the period prior to 1967.
The conference is the inaugural event of the Canadian Women Artists History Initiative -- a collaborative project that seeks to brings resources and researchers together to enhance scholarship on historical women artists in Canada. In addition to research programming, CWAHI also maintains a consultable documentation centre on women artists and develops web-based research tools. We welcome your participation.

Vous êtes chaleureusement convié(e) à Connections , un congrès national sur l'histoire des femmes et de l'art au Canada.
Inauguré par un discours du Dr. Ruth Phillips, titulaire de la Chaire de recherche du Canada en culture moderne à l'Université Carleton, le congrès rassemblera 39 chercheurs universitaires, conservateurs de musée et archivistes de tous les coins du pays. Il s'agira d'examiner une vaste palette de contributions féminines à l'histoire culturelle et matérielle du Canada. Les communications s'intéresseront à une variété de média - incluant l'artisanat, l'illustration, l'architecture, la photographie et la peinture - avec une emphase toute particulière sur la période antérieure à 1967.
Ce congrès est l'événement inaugural du Réseau d'étude sur l'histoire des artistes canadiennes - un projet de collaboration cherchant à rassembler les chercheurs et les ressources nécessaires pour mettre en valeur la recherche historique sur les femmes artistes du Canada. En surcroît de son programme de recherche, le RÉHAC (CWAHI en anglais) gère un centre de documentation accessible à tous sur les femmes artistes et développe aussi une base de données sur internet.
