There have been many artists since the 1980s who have developed
AIDS-related issues in their art. There have been a multitude of
publications and exhibitions on the topic, overwhelmingly so. Many
websites as well. The Graduate Center at CUNY held a conference,
AIDS/ART/WORK, in May 2008. Their site has a short bibliography. UCLA
also held a conference, AIDS-SIDA Global Updates, Art and
Performance, recently.

Robert Mapplethorpe and Keith Haring, as two major artists, come
immediately to mind. There is also ACT Up's Silence = Death Project
(1987), and the NAMES Foundation project, which produced the AIDS
Memorial Quilt, also started in 1987.

"Trauma" is also a topic now for many artists; you might want to
search the literature on that.

What would Mickey and Judy do?

Mickey who?
Roonie!

Judy who?
Garland!

They'd throw a party!
