Currently on exhibit at the Fleet Library at RISD through August 15th:

Shelter is a traveling exhibition of artists’ book works organized by
Veronica Morgan, sponsored by Boston Book Arts, and curated by Janine
Wong, Professor of Design at University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. The
more than 40 participating artists come from the US, Canada, England and
Australia.

The guiding theme of this exhibition is Shelter, representing the home,
the psychology of personal space, as well as current issues such as
homelessness and the mortgage crisis. Each artist has used the book
form to convey a personal response to this theme, either broadly or
narrowly, to tell a unique story through structure, materials, image and
text. Though each artist’s vision is personal, there is a universality
found in these pieces that resonates with us all.

The majority of these works are for sale, with a portion of the
proceeds to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Rhode Island. The exhibit
is open weekdays from 9am to 7pm. For more information, please call
401-709-5923.
