S/he is responsible for the intellectual access to
Bucknell’s digital collections, ensuring that users are able to find and
retrieve materials, making recommendations for improving the intellectual
access to digital objects, and implementing such changes. This individual will
be responsible for metadata and associated authority control, quality control,
knowledge of changing metadata standards, and other duties associated with the
creation and maintenance of data related to both digital and print materials.
While the primary focus of the work will be working with metadata for digital
objects, this individual will also serve as a resident authority on traditional
cataloging standards and emerging trends related to the intellectual access and
organization of information.
Master’s degree in Library Science or
Information Science is required.
