Dear Colleagues,

 

I am writing to inform you about a recent change in the composition of the ARLIS/NA Board.  To our regret, but understandably, Rijn Templeton has stepped down as Treasurer. Rijn is Fine Arts Librarian at the University of Iowa, a campus that is still recovering from massive floods.

 

We are fortunate beyond words that Ted Goodman, General Editor, Avery Index, has agreed to fill this essential board position. Ted is a former ARLIS/NA President (2001) and he has also served as Treasurer (1992-1993). Among many other distinguished contributions to ARLIS/NA, he served as Co-Chair of the ARLIS/NA Conferences in New York in 1990 and 2004, Development Committee Chair in 1994, Wittenborn Committee Chair in 1991 and Chair of ARLIS/NY in 1999.

 

Fran Scott, immediate past Treasurer, has very kindly agreed to join us at the Conference Planning Committee meeting, which takes place next week in Indianapolis. Her expertise will be invaluable and she will spend some time with Ted to bring him up to speed on current policies, procedures and practices.

 

I am sure that you join me in thanking Fran and Ted for their collegiality and commitment and for stepping up in a time of great need.
