BJ Irvine's 'Standards for Art Libraries" will give you LOADS to work with-not listing specific libraries, but just the 'standards' and it is very detailed. Excellent source. I have used it a lot in trying to make the case for a more reasonably sized library. (I've got about 15,000 vols in 1,000 sq feet...yes, ONE thousand..)
good luck,

Subject: [ARLIS-L] Fine Arts Libraries Survey or Statistics
Hello: So, goofy question. But before I give up my search I thought I'd
try the list.
Is there any kind of survey or statistical compilation specific to Fine Arts
Libraries?
I tried ARLIS, ALA, ARL and the Library Lit database. Can't find what I'm
looking for.
Basically anything at all would be of interest to me -- statistics on
collection size, staff size specifically for fine arts libraries. Also any
attempts to categorize, classify, characterize different "types" of fine
arts libraries -- art and architecture, visual arts exclusively, fine arts
to include visual arts but other things as well...
Thanks in advance whatever the responses!
