Dear Colleagues,

A curator colleague here in Baltimore is trying to find a cataloger with a very particular set of skills - and is having great trouble.  The museum where he works is digitizing and cataloging its collection of Islamic Medieval manuscripts and is looking for someone with cataloging experience and knowledge of ancient Persian, Arabic, and/or Turkish.  Ideally, with art history experience as well.  Quite a tall order!

Does anyone have advice on where they might turn for recruitment?  Are there institutions that spring to mind?  General strategies for finding people with these type of language skills, in particular?  Any words of advice would be greatly appreciated.  Please respond to me off list.

As always, many thanks!

Don
