IFLA Art Libraries Section : Pre-Conference in Montreal, 6-8 August 2008

What better way to meet art library colleagues from around the world than a pre-conference in the cultural metropolis of Montreal?
Preparations are now underway for three days of art-related activities organized by a special committee of the ARLIS/NA MOQ (Montreal-Ottawa-Quebec) chapter that will welcome art librarians from Canada and abroad, provide a forum for international exchange, and complement the experience of those who will also attend the IFLA Annual Conference in Quebec City.
Highlights of the Pre-Conference in Montreal will include:
* a series of thematic presentations by Canadian and international representatives from the art library community
* visits to major cultural institutions with guided tours of their exhibitions or collections
* organized walking tours showcasing the rich architectural heritage and history of Montreal

Quelle meilleure façon de rencontrer des collègues des bibliothèques d'art de partout dans le monde qu'une rencontre pré-congrès dans la métropole culturelle de Montréal ?
Un comité spécial de la section d'ARLIS/NA MOQ (Montréal-Ottawa-Québec) organise présentement trois jours d'activités liées aux arts. Ces activités réuniront des bibliothécaires en art du Canada et d'ailleurs sous forme d'échange international, tout en enrichissant l'expérience de ceux qui participeront à la conférence annuelle de l'IFLA à Québec.
Quelques activités à souligner de la rencontre pré-congrès à Montréal :
* une série de présentations thématique par des représentants canadiens et internationaux de la communauté des bibliothèques d'art ;
* des visites d'institutions culturelles avec visites guidées de leurs expositions ou collections ;
* des circuits de promenade organisés, mettant en valeur le patrimoine architectural et l'histoire de Montréal.
