A grad student is working on her MA thesis, in which she wants to explore Giorgio de Chirico's interest in ancient Roman and Greek culture. As part of her research she is looking for his writings, but has had no luck getting via ILL because she doesn't have exact bibliographic information. If you hold the following journal, would it be possible for you to provide us with the bibliographic citations? Valori Plastici (Rome) -April-May 1919 (article title in English is "Metaphysical Aesthetic" ) -June-October 1919 (article title in English is "Impressionism") -May-June 1920 (article in English is "The Architectonic Sense in Ancient Painting") -1925, "Gustave Courbet" Do any of you know of a bibliography to his writings? The student also wants to see if she can discover what de Chirico read, to see if she can discover sources of inspiration. She read his memoire, but said he didn't discuss his reading. The student said he used the Bibliotheque National extensively. I'm stumped about this avenue of research in this case. Do any of you have suggestions? She knows he corresponded with Apollinaire, but we can't find any collections of letters. Does anyone know if there is an archive with this correspondence? I haven't looked into this myself, but I thought I would ask while I'm at it! I appreciate any help you can give. Please respond off list. --Peggy Peggy Keeran Arts and Humanities Reference Librarian Penrose Library University of Denver 2150 E.
