Dear Colleagues,

I am hoping to hear from other museum libraries regarding the availability of scanners for public (non-staff) use.  We have a copier/scanner that sends all documents directly to staff members’ e-mail addresses as PDF files.  Our IT department prefers not to allow documents to be sent to non-museum e-mail addresses citing security concerns.  This not only affects our public visitors but museum docents and volunteers.

Are you providing scanners for use by public, docents and/or volunteers? We would like to find out how other museum libraries handle scanner use in general while addressing system security.  Please respond to me off-list.

Thank you in advance,

Alba
