Offered for sale: a very rich, broadly representative, and important collection of books, pamphlets, cards, etc. by IAN HAMILTON FINLAY (1925-2006) from the library of Robert Creeley. Eighty-four items (with publication dates from 1958 to the mid-1990s) are offered, many with excellent associations to eminent American poet, editor ("The Black Mountain Review"), and teacher Robert Creeley. The collection includes Finlay's scarce first book "The Sea-Bed and Other Stories" (1958) with Creeley's ownership signature, "Concertina" (1962) inscribed to Creeley, and "RAPEL 10 fauve and suprematist poems" (1963). "Ian Hamilton Finlay: An Illustrated Essay" by Stephen Bann contains an excellent letter from IHF to Creeley dated 1972. A detailed catalog is available in PDF upon request.
NOTE: We also have available for sale a group of Ian Hamilton Finlay sculpture. Inquiries welcome.
