Using Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s Workspace artists residency as a model, Erin Donnelly, LMCC’s Residency Director, will cover what residencies offer, how to choose a program and most importantly, what to consider when you apply. In addition, she will address the selection process and how artists can get the most out of a residency experience. A handy resource list of residency opportunities will be your parting gift.

Erin Donnelly has been the Residency Director and Curator at Lower Manhattan Cultural Council since 2001. Her independent and guest curatorial projects include Henry Street Settlement/Abrons Arts Center, Gigantic ArtSpace, and ‘the lab’ at the Roger Smith Hotel all In New York and The Peekskill Project, and Kunsthalle Exnergasse in Vienna, Austria. She has worked on exhibitions at the Lower East Side Tenement Museum, the Grey Art Gallery and the New Museum taught at New York University. She is the recipient of a Helena Rubinstein Curatorial Fellowship, and an Independent Study Program Grant from Whitney Museum of American Art. She received an MA from Gallatin School of Individualized Study and a Certificate in Museum Studies from NYU.
