I am pleased to announce that Tammy Ravas will receive the ARLIS/NA-MW Winberta Yao Travel Award. Tammy will use her award to attend the ARLIS/NA conference in Denver. Tammy was a music librarian for several years at the University of Houston, and in May of 2007 began a new position as Fine Arts Librarian and Media Coordinator at the University of Montana. She is enthusiastic about getting involved with ARLIS/NA because she wants to learn as much as possible about visual arts librarianship. Tammy has been very active in the Music Library Association, and has recently joined both ARLIS/NA and ARLIS/NA-MW. This will be her first ARLIS/NA meeting. Congratulations Tammy! The Winberta Yao Travel Award was established in honor and recognition of Art Librarian Winberta Yao, a co-founder and the first president of ARLIS/AZ (Arizona). Winberta Yao worked at Arizona State University from 1975-1997, although her interest in forming a chapter of ARLIS began earlier, while she was working at the Phoenix Art Museum.
