To the many colleagues, former students, and friends of BJ Irvine,

During her 40 years at Indiana University, Betty Jo (B.J.) Kish Irvine distinguished herself as the quintessential art librarian, responsible for the planning, administration, collection development, and reference services of the Fine Arts Library.  In addition, she established and served as the Director of the Specialization in Art Librarianship program in the School of Library and Information Science, and taught, mentored, and encouraged students in all areas of art and visual resources librarianship and art history.

In an effort to see the art librarianship specialization continue in the School of Library an Information Science at Indiana University, B.J. has thoughtfully and generously contributed the funds to establish the B.J. Kish Irvine Graduate Scholarship at Indiana University.  This scholarship will support students who are pursuing fine arts librarianship, which includes print, image, digital and electronic collections and applications in fine arts librarianship.

On the occasion of B.J.’s retirement from Indiana University, we now turn to you to help us build the strength of this endowment.  Your tax-deductible contribution to this scholarship will honor B.J.’s accomplishments and legacy at Indiana University.  Outstanding graduate students who are awarded the scholarship will be encouraged by your thoughtful generosity.

Please consider honoring B.J. in this special and tangible way.  Contributions should be forwarded to:
