In case you have not ordered a pre-publication subscription to the
catalog of
The Second Exhibition of
American Decorated Publishers' Bindings,
1872-1929
Collected and Described by Richard
Minsky
This is a reminder that there will be a price increase on February 1.
Order by January 31 for the current pricing. Information about this
edition, scheduled for fall, 2008 publication, is at
http://minsky.com/orderform-subscription2.htm
The catalogs include archival (MAM-A Gold) CD-ROMs with the database file
(.xls), a checklist in html format, the entire text of the Deluxe
Edition as PDF, hi-resolution jpeg images and more. Educational
Institutions are licensed to use the CD-ROM files on their internal
networks (password protected networks for librarians, faculty and
students, not available to the general public).
Subscribers also receive a web-based Newsletter with updates, commentary,
and images of books added to the database as they are imaged, and access
to a private (passcode) website with the database and checklist.
This enables librarians and curators to identify books in general stacks
that should be moved to secure settings. It also helps identify
scarce books that may be desired for acquisition, before the catalog is
published, and while copies are available. Additionally, some 19th
century reference texts are available on the subscribers' website as PDF
downloads.
If you missed the first volume (2006), there are 7 copies of the Deluxe
Edition and 23 copies of the Limited Edition remaining. Details and
photos are at
http://minsky.com/orderform-subscription1.htm
Installation views of the exhibitions are at

and

I look forward to seeing you at the Grolier Club on Feb. 22 for the
symposium, where I will be speaking about this subject.
Best regards,
Richard
