ARLIS/MOQ PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
AWARDS 2008
ARLIS/MOQ is pleased to announce its Professional
Development Awards for 2008. Applications must be received by Monday, 28
January 2008.
I. TRAVEL AWARD ($800)
Purpose: to promote professional development by
supporting travel to the ARLIS/NA
Annual Conference which will be held in Denver, Colorado from May 1-5,
2008.
Eligibility:
• Applicant must be a member of ARLIS/NA and
ARLIS/MOQ to attend the conference.
• Applicant must be unable to receive full
institutional funding for travel to the conference.
• Preference is given to applicants who are
first-time attendees and/or who are
involved in the conference program, i.e. presenting a
paper, serving as
moderator or recorder of a session, serving on an
ARLIS/NA committee, etc.
• The award is open to student members.
• The award may not be given in the same year to
the winner of an ARLIS/NA travel
Award.
• The recipient must prepare a short report which
will be published in MOQDOC.

II. SPECIAL TRAVEL AWARD ($150-$300)
Purpose: to promote professional development by
supporting travel to conferences of interest to art librarianship (conferences
other than the ARLIS/NA annual conference which is already supported by the
Chapter's Travel Award)
Eligibility:
• Applicant must be a member of ARLIS/MOQ.
• Applicant must be unable to receive full
institutional funding for travel to
the conference.
• Preference is given to applicants who are
first-time attendees and/or who are
involved in the conference program, i.e. presenting a
paper, serving as
moderator or recorder of a session, serving on a
committee, etc.
• The award is open to student members.
• The award may not be given in the same year to
the winner of an ARLIS travel
award to the same conference.
• An application submitted to the Committee should
state what professional
benefits the applicant anticipates for himself and his
peers at the
professional, institutional and/or collective levels.
• The recipient must prepare a short report which
will be published in MOQDOC.

interest and/or professional
activity, including activity within the local chapter.
