ARLIS/NA Denver Conference Preliminary Program Now Available!!

Check out the preliminary program posted at
http://arlisna-mw.lib.byu.edu/denver2008/program.htm. You will see that the
program is jammed with intriguing sessions and fun events! There are three
FULL days of session programming -- plus added days for tours and workshops
of course! With the shortened conference schedule that members have
requested, we will all need to make some hard choices on what to go to. The
session days are content-rich from morning to evening, so be prepared and
plan on enjoying three FULL days!!!

The program features several plenary speakers and an exhibits no-conflict
time, another member requested change. This Conference will debut an
innovative approach to programming: consecutive sessions [currently labeled
Mega Tech!] on Web 2.0 applications that parallel more traditionally
formatted sessions. In addition to the back-to-back Mega Tech presentations
in the exhibits area, a one-on-one Web 2.0 consulting service will also be
offered in the exhibits area.

A wide variety of topical sessions on a variety of timely issues are
offered Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Although many of the sessions are on
hot topics, we also have one session that is specifically titled "hot
topics"!!

The tours offer opportunities to view Denver's vast array of public art,
its intense natural beauty, nearby academic and art communities of Colorado
Springs and Boulder, and -- by popular request -- a Denver cemetery tour.

The workshop schedule includes workshops on cataloging cultural objects;
the history of photography; everyday leadership in libraries; mentoring our
members; and the ever-popular "they never covered this in library
school"..this time all about maps.

We hope you will peruse the preliminary program....please remember it is
still preliminary, times and other details may change. What will not
change is the richness of the program throughout the entire conference. We
think you will agree it is full of dynamic offerings and that there will be
difficult and delightful choices to make ahead of you!

Conference, May 1-5
