Since the student is actually studying for a German
exam, I'd recommend: M. Apelt, English-German dictionary: art
history-archaeology (1982 and 1987). Out of print, but many libraries
have it.

A student
writes.."Years ago I was given a Xerox from a dictionary of art historical
terms, which I seem to have lost. I can't seem to find any reference to
the source or anything similar and wonder if you might be familiar with
it. It was a French/Italian/German/English dictionary of art history
terms. Now that I'm cramming for my German exam it would really come in
handy!"
Sounds like this could have been an appendix of a larger
reference book
