Hi all,
My name is Leah McGowan and I am a graduate student at City University in
London, UK, studying for a post-graduate degree in (MSc) Library and
Information Studies. Currently, I am in the midst of my dissertation on:
“Art Librarianship in the United States and the United Kingdom, a compare
and contrast analysis of institutional culture.”
It is my hope that as an experienced professional in the field of art
librarianship, you will consent to contribute to my case study by
responding to a short questionnaire.
I am a U.S. citizen and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from
Michigan State University where I worked as a student in several libraries.
Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of public and academic
libraries in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
From my experiences, I noted many similarities and differences in terms of
the role of the librarian, how they view themselves and how they are
perceived within their institutions.
I understand that you are very busy at this time of year, but your
contribution would be immensely appreciated. As, I am unable to post an
