Hi,

We are a new art, design & media library and have a rapidly growing
collection of about 15,000 volumes.
We use the LC classification for our collection.

We have had some feedback about the way some of the books are shelved,
to make browsing easier. For example: a student has pointed out that
all books on Van Gogh should be shelved together irrespective of whether
they are on his paintings, drawings, biography, criticism etc. This is
because based on LC categories, the books are shelved according to
their genre.

Have any of you experienced a similar issue. Would appreciate any
feedback on how we could deal with this.

Thank you
