Hi, all, A student needs to find out two pieces of information about a fairly famous installation photo from the 1915 exhibition, "The Last Futurist Exhibition 0.10 (Zero-Ten)". It shows Kazimir Malevich's "Black Square" hung across the corner of the room. She needs to know: 1) Has the photographer ever been identified? We've tried to find this, but so far nothing indicates that even the artist knew who took it. 2) When did the image first appear or become accessible in the West? We tried looking through the historic newspapers, periodicals, and indexes, but have had no luck finding it published before 1970s. In WorldCat we found a book in German from 1927, written by Malevich, which could have information. We're going to order via ILL, but we don't know if we'll be able to borrow it. Thanks for any help you can give! Please respond off list. --Peggy Peggy Keeran Arts and Humanities Reference Librarian Penrose Library University of Denver 2150 E.
