Does this ring any bells with anyone?

A picture of a peacock painted over a mirror, lots of pastels but mostly pink and mint green. The signature is Oscar Petrie (or perhaps Petue)...bought anout 10 years ago in an antique store in California, where the label called it "Bird of Paradise." Buyer describes it as "art nouveau or art deco."

Query is from a generous but undemanding donor, whose sister bought the piece. Googling was unsuccessful, as was consultation of _Who Was Who in American Art_, _Designers International Index_, _Artists in California 1786-1940_. No luck in Art Index, ARTBibliographies Modern, or DAAI. I've devoted as much time to this I can justify--probably more--but I'm hoping this strikes a chord in some of your image- & info-stuffed brains.
