ARLIS/NA-Central Plains Chapter: 2007 Fall Meeting

(Cost and RSVP information are included at the end of this message.)

The Fall 2007 chapter meeting will be held in Norman, OK. 
The program will include sessions on Native American art resources,
tours of local and regional museums, and a visit to Oklahoma City.

Friday, Sept. 28
8:30am - 9:00am:    On-site registration & greetings in the
	              Sooner Room on the first floor of the Oklahoma
Memorial Union. 
                    The Union is located on the north end of the
University of Oklahoma
	              campus at 900 Asp Ave.

9:00am - 10:30am:   Business meeting chaired by Ellen Urton

10:30am - Noon:    "Native American Art Resources: Paper and
                    Electronic."  Led by Mari Russell from Haskell
Indian Nations Univ.
                    and Tom Young from the Philbrook Museum.

Noon - 2:00pm:      Lunch

2:00pm - 4:00pm:    Tour of Charles M. Russell Center for the
                    Study of Art of the American West.  Director Byron
Price 
			  will discuss the creation of the Charles M.
Russell catalogue raisonne,
			  due from OU Press in November, 2007.

The Center opened in 1999 and is dedicated to the pursuit and
dissemination of knowledge in the field of American art history as it
relates to the western United States. Through its resource center,
national symposia, course offerings and related outreach programs, the
Russell Center engages students and the public in developing a better
understanding of, and appreciation for, 19th- and 20th-century
Euro-American and Native American artistic traditions.

Saturday, Sept. 29

9:00am - 2:00pm:    Visit Oklahoma City sights as outlined on the the
ARLIS/NA-Central Plains website at
                    http://arliscp.library.okstate.edu/.  There will be
time on Friday for all who want 
                    to visit Oklahoma City to talk about logistics.


The cost for this meeting will be $10 for members and $15 for
non-members Registration will take place onsite.
