REQUESTS FOR SPECIAL PROJECT FUNDING

Deadline: September 28, 2007
Prior to the 2007 Midyear Executive Board meeting, I will be preparing the
draft budget for ARLIS/NA fiscal year 2008 (January 1 - December 31). It
will include an amount for funding special projects for chapters. If your
chapter will have extraordinary expenses for projects, publications, events,
etc. during FY2008, requests for funding must be received by September 28.
These requests do NOT include funding for national conference activities or
sessions, or for ongoing chapter operational expenses. The Board recommends
that you discuss potential projects with your membership and with your Board
liaison prior to September 28 so that ideas can be reviewed by the Board at its
Midyear meeting.
Special Project Funding is limited. Even if approved in principle, the Board
may decide to fund a portion of a given special funding project. Consult the
"Special Funding Guidelines" on the ARLIS Web Site for further

Please submit a completed application form (found on the web site or below) and
send via email to [log in to unmask] by September 28.
If you anticipate a change in leadership in your chapter, please make certain
to notify your successor of your request and the documents that accompany it.
All group and chapter contacts will be notified of the outcome of their
proposal once the ARLIS/NA Board has discussed it in the fall.

Summary Description:
Please provide a brief description. Specify the timetable and
outcome or product. How does the request forward the Society’s strategic
plan or relate to our core competencies? Can the project serve as a model for
other ventures? What is the potential impact for the group or the Society?
Additional information may be attached to this cover sheet.
Summary Budget:
Please indicate dollar amount for total project and attach separate
itemization of general categories of expenses. Specify any additional sources
of support and their extent [e.g., in-kind contributions; chapter
contributions; institutional support for postage, telephone, etc.]. Also please
indicate the current balances in all chapter or group accounts.
Beginning & Completion Dates:
All projects must fall between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31 for the upcoming
fiscal year; i.e., applications due September 28, 2007 are for fiscal year
2008.
