Greetings listserv members
I direct this note specifically to art museum library folks,
particularly solo librarians; of course,
comments from others are welcome too.
I have begun work on a Appropriate Computer Use policy for
the library and would appreciate
your guidance. The following describes my
situation:
I have two public access computers, which have a general
internet connection, including e-mail.
The current network configuration does not allow us to
restrict access by patron logins.
1. Do any of you limit
(internet/e-mail, etc.) access to such machines to museum members
and
staff, or any similar iteration of
such?
2. Do any of you have computer appropriate use
policies? If so, could you forward a copy or provide
information regarding said policy?
3. Do you impose time limits on use of your public access
machines?
4. Do you utilize any network/time management software on
you public access computers?
Thanks in advance for your help. If there is interest,
I will summarize for the list.
