Workshops in Denver As you consider your contribution to the 2008 Conference in Denver, don't forget about Workshops. Workshops are a great opportunity to present an in-depth session with ARLIS/NA and outside scholars and experts as speakers. A registration fee may be necessary to offset costs for external speakers. Proposals for two hour, four hour and eight hour workshops in which a particular subject is explored in depth are eagerly sought. Organizers should include interactive features and workshop handouts. Proposals appropriate for beginners and those that address the concerns of more advanced learners are welcomed. Please remember that continuing education is an important mission of ARLIS/NA. Priority will be given to proposals that provide opportunities for the advancement of strategic initiatives and the development of Core Competencies. The following documents should be consulted: Core Competencies http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/afa/pdc/coredata.htm Environmental Scan http://www.arlisna.org/arlismembers/stratplan_envscan.pdf Strategic Plan http://www.arlisna.org/organization/admindocs/stratplan00-05.html Program proposal forms and guidelines are available at http://arlisna-mw.lib.byu.edu/denver2008/ We are really looking forward to hearing from you!
