SCIPIO USERS GROUP MEETING at ARLIS/NA CONFERENCE

Those of you attending next week's conference in Atlanta are invited to the SCIPIO Users Group meeting that will take place on Sunday, April 29, from 3:30-5:00 in the Highlands Room.

The definition of who uses SCIPIO will broaden dramatically when OCLC completes its program to integrate records from SCIPIO into the WorldCat database. Additionally, SCIPIO database subscriptions will transition from the RLG Eureka interface to FirstSearch. Glenn Patton, Ed Glazier, and Günter Waibel of OCLC will join us at the meeting to give a report on the steps involved in the migration, and answer your questions about the transition to WorldCat and FirstSearch.

It will be important to understand how to search and retrieve auction data in the new environment, as well as how to contribute to the aggregated body of auction catalog records. Therefore, we hope many of you will be able to attend and participate in the discussion.

Light refreshments will be available courtesy of OCLC.

I look forward to seeing many of you soon,

Deborah Kempe

Chair, SCIPIO Advisory Taskforce
