One of our curators is interested in recommending that our library purchase the Art Journal (London) on microfilm.  Volumes 11-74 (1849-1912) were filmed by

University Microfilms.

Our experience with some of other microfilmed journals has not always been satisfactory - print was too small to read, print from the page on the other side "bled" through into the page you were reading, etc.

Does anyone have experience with using the Art Journal on microfilm?  It has been difficult for us to locate a library which would even loan the microfilm of one of these volumes, so we have not used it ourselves.

Thank you.
