>I am very pleased to announce that Allen Townsend will assume 
>responsibilities for the Director, Arts Library, effective July 16, 2007.

>Allen is currently the Library Director at the Amon Carter Museum in 
>Fort Worth Texas where he has worked since 2003, responsible for the 
>operations of this museum library and archives that include 
>significant collections of rare and illustrated Americana and 
>photographers' archives.   He has provided leadership and support 
>for the museum's fundraising and marketing efforts related to 
>research, publishing and other scholarly and adult education 
>programs.   Prior to going to Fort Worth, Allen served as the 
>Arcadia Director of the Library and Archives at the Philadelphia 
>Museum of Art, Head of the Education Resource Center at the Dallas 
>Museum of Art, and Circulation Manager in the Hamon Arts Library at 
>Southern Methodist University. He earned a Master of Library Science 
>at the University of North Texas in 1990 as well as a Master of 
>Music from Southern Methodist University in 1985.  Allen has a long 
>list of professional activities covering publications, lectures, 
>exhibitions, and association work, including serving as the 
>President of The Art Libraries Society of North American [ARLIS/NA].
