Virginia Commonwealth University & VCU School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUQ) announce the Second Biennial Symposium on Islamic Art.

RIVERS OF PARADISE: WATER IN ISLAMIC ART AND CULTURE
November 4–6, 2007 in Doha, Qatar

Thirteen international speakers will explore the theme of water in Islamic lands from southern Europe to South Asia. Topics will range from water supply and distribution to its role in religion and popular culture.

 

15 Fellowships to attend the Symposium

The Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development & VCUQ are offering 15 fellowships which will subsidize travel and lodgeing. Apply online.
