Provides reader services to Museum staff and the public, including reference, access, circulation, and referrals. Helps to implement orientations for staff, interns, and the public. Works closely with library staff to review and improve services. Keeps abreast of developments in relevant subject areas and art librarianship. Initiates and implements special projects.

 

Requirements: Graduate degree in Library Science required. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Art History or relevant subject preferred. Previous art library experience. Public service experience preferred. Knowledge of modern and contemporary art (including any or all of the Museum's curatorial areas). Familiarity with automated library systems and electronic resources. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills. Conversational fluency in one or more of the following foreign languages preferred: French, German, Korean, Japanese, or Chinese. Reading knowledge of foreign languages preferred.
