ARLIS/NA members are invited to join the Association of Architecture School
Librarians
(AASL) at our annual meeting in Philadelphia in March 2007.

The web site for the 2007 Annual Meeting is now complete. Please visit:
http://www.library.cmu.edu/Research/Arts/AASLPhilly07/

The Preliminary Schedule consists of a general outline of locations,
sessions, and other activities and events. There is also an annotated
version of the schedule, which provides more detailed information. The
schedule includes major sessions on library instruction and special
collections, behind-the scenes visits to the University of Pennsylvania and
the Athenaeum of Philadelphia, a talk on architecture library services at
Drexel University, presentations and tours given by Philadelphia
architecture scholars, a tour and reception at an eighteenth-century mansion
undergoing restoration, a group dinner with "Irish haute cuisine," and an
"open-mic" information forum.

Registration information on the web site includes a registration form to be
submitted by February 16. The base registration fee remains a reasonable
$100, with payment of your $15 annual dues. This is also your opportunity
to sign up for the traditional group dinner (at an additional cost) and
other events.

See information about our new Student and Travel Awards.

Travel and accommodations information tells you what you need to know about
transportation and hotel options. The deadline for making reservations at
the conference hotel at the conference rate is February 5.

Please note that the annual meeting is March 7-10 -- a few weeks earlier
than it was last year, so please act promptly! Note also that we are
meeting alongside of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture
(ACSA) again this year; but ACSA policy now requires registration for the
ACSA conference in order to attend ACSA events. We do not have any joint
sessions this year.

Philadelphia, known for its urban plan and its orchestra, its historic sites
and its art museums, its cheese steaks and its soft pretzels, is both
sophisticated and unpretentious. The scope of Philadelphia's architecture
is second to none among American cities, and the city features a particular
wealth of libraries and special collections.

Please contact me with any questions.
