Dear all, as you might know I am living in Florence, Italy. I will still be part of ARLIS and I hope to see all of you in Atlanta. I want to let you know that the 2006 SILS/Florence course was again a great success. (see SAA and ARLIS/NY newsletters) Unfortunately the Pratt administration decided to have the course with another department. However my Florentine collegues and myself are creating two courses for professionals/students interested in experiencing Florentine culture. People and/or institutions interested should send an e-mail to me ([log in to unmask]). The biblioteca Nazionale centrale, the Uffizi, the University of Florence, the Polo Museale Fiorentino, the Museo di storia della scienza, the Archivio nazionale, Giunti, Casalini, Alinari, il museo della Crusca, the department of Informatics are some of the venues involved in the courses. Attendees will receive free admission to all the Florentine museums and libraries. Curators, art librarians, archivists, university professors will give lectures and workshop as outlined in the syllabus. I wish you all a wonderful 2007 and I hope you are interested in our Florentine international courses.
