Dear ARLIS Friends,
I have placed my collection of 500
American Decorated Publsihers' Bindings, 1872-1929 on eBay. The direct

I do not want to see it broken up,
as those of you (more than 50 libraries) who have acquired the catalog
will understand. It is a formidable resource for anyone interested in this
subject. The catalog has received accolades, and if you have not seen it,

If you are interested in acquiring this collection for your institutional library, that would suit my preferences more than having a dealer buy it to break up and sell individually, or for a private collector to sequester it where scholars and students would not have access. I would offer terms on a purchase order to enable an institutional acquisition, and if that is done before any bids are entered on eBay, I would close the auction.
