Indiana library student Miriam Nelson, Jenni Rodda, and I are pleased to announce that the data from Phase I of the North American Lantern Slide Survey (NALSS) has been posted on the web, at http://www.nyu.edu/gsas/dept/fineart/ifa/NALSS/Home.htm

We invite you to review your own submission, as well as that of your colleagues. What might you discover about your own lantern slide collection now that you have some comparative information available? Is that weird little group of lantern slides now revealed as something unique? Or is that special collection not seeming quite so special?

Jenni and I do have plans for Phase II, sort of. We look forward to hearing from you about your needs, or no need, for Phase II? Do you really need to revise your submission? Do you know colleagues who want to participate? What have we overlooked that seems vital or informative?

Thanks,

Maryly
