Error - unable to initiate communication with LISTSERV (errno=10061, phase=CONNECT, target=127.0.0.1:2306). The server is probably not started.
I am pleased to announce the availability of a new and improved SPIRO image database. In the past, SPIRO always had two windows: one for querying, and one for look-up lists. Susan Stone and Glen Jackson of Museum Informatics Project (recently reorganized into the IS&T Data Group) have merged these two windows into one. In addition, items in a look-up list can be clicked, rather than the former copy and paste, for insertion into a query field. You must still hit return or "submit query" for the query to happen. In order for the new SPIRO to work properly you must do these things: 1. Open your browser and empty/clear its cache. 2. Quit your browser. 3. Go to your java script and clear its cache. Go to Applications. Then go to Utilities. Then go to Java. Open the highest Java plug-in and clear its cache. 4. Open your browser. If it doesn't work, then try clearing the java cache first, then the browser cache. Then quit and start up the browser again. It's worth the little bit of trouble.
