LISTSERV 16.5 - ARLIS-L Archives
Dear Colleagues:
I have just read an excellent introduction to the
topic of folksonomy that was included as a hot link in the September 27 issue of
AL Direct. It is on p. 9-12 of the September issue of the ALA Library
Instruction Round Table Newsletter. It was written by Billie Peterson-Lugo
from Baylor U. ([log in to unmask]).
You can get to it with the following URL: http://www3.baylor.edu/LIRT/ Then
click on "Publications" and "LIRT News."
Or if you have access to the September 27
issue of AL Direct, you will find it by scrolling down to the section called
Round Table News. You will see the headline, "Folksonomy
Fundamentals." This takes you to the September issue of the LIRT
Newsletter, which is a pdf file. Scroll down to p. 9. It's worth the
effort.
The article has the clearest explanation I have yet
seen. It includes a short history and a bibliography that is actually
useful.
Joan
