I have a faculty member who is looking for clothing patterns for "oxford bags"--- the very baggy pants worn by Oxford students around 1926. So far we've looked in books that reproduce patterns, various reference books for clues (like Esquire's Encyclopedia of Twentieth Century Men's Fashions and the Encyclopedia of Clothing and Fashion (description but no patterns), and several trade publications from the twenties including: the Sartorial Gazette, American Gentleman and Sartorial Art Journal, Man and His Clothes, Newest Styles for Men, The International Tailor, and Progressive Tailor. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know...
