I should think that just this kind of in-depth review is in the works at
Art Libraries Journal, Art Documentation, and/or CAAreviews.com.
I was asked to undertake such a review, but having done several of these
kinds of detailed analytical reviews in the past and knowing the time
and energy commitments involved, I declined. Nevertheless, our
profession is replete with excellent minds, and I'm sure that one or
more such comprehensive reviews are being written right now.

The bottom line is this. If one has the new English edition, does one
need to have any/all of the following in-house, or is off-site, but
retrievable, sufficient:
- the 1996 ed.
- the 1976 ed.
- the 1948-55 ed.
- the 1911-23 ed. [1913-22]
Something has to go.

What to do with French Benezit?
Before I jump into this with my Cassell's French dictionary and a bottle
of Chateau Fleet Street, has anyone already produced a (fairly) serious
analysis of French Benezit content vs. English Benezit content?
Is all of FB in EB?
