> ARLIS/Mountain West invites you to its chapter conference to be held October 12-15, 2006 in Tucson, Arizona.
> 
> The theme of the conference is The Legacy of Arts in the West. Highlights include:
> 
> *	A keynote speech by Dr. Stacie Widdifield, Professor or Art History at University of Arizona
> *	A panel of local representatives from the Arizona State Museum and Arizona History Museum discussing the creation of the Rio Nuevo district, which features cultural and historic attractions
> *	A presentation about Lon Megargee, Arizona's original cowboy artist
> *	A walking tour of the historic El Presidio neighborhood
> *	Programs on collection development and library instruction
> *	Receptions at the Arizona State Museum and the Center for Creative Photography
> *	Dinner at the Café Poca Cosa 
> 
> The conference will take place at the Tucson Marriott University Park Hotel, 880 East Second Street, one block from the University of Arizona. Rooms have been reserved for the nights of October 12, 13, and 14 at the conference rate of $135 per night. The deadline for hotel reservations is September 12; after that rooms may be booked at conference rate but availability is not guaranteed.
