Hello: I read that this is a moderated list now, so perhaps if this isn't the right forum to this question it will get kicked back anyway, so I thought I'd try. I am new to this field -- so new that I don't enter my Master's program at the University of Oklahoma until 2007 (long story, much ado, delaying enrollment for a year). To condense an exchange of e-mails basically my faculty advisor-to-be advised me that if I intend to pursue the thesis option I should familiarize myself with literature and do some reading to find out more about what a thesis might consist of. This was spawned from a question I had about whether or not the thesis option is best for me since I have my sights set on a fine arts library at a university. To make a long story short, I have been lurking here and will continue to do so to make sure this is what I really intend to do with a library degree. However, I have no idea what a library thesis would even be about, much less one specifically related to art libraries. I will try and make a trip across the state to start looking at theses written by past master's students at OU, but is there anywhere -- especially online, but even not online -- where one could see a list of thesis titles and/or abstracts to get an idea of what art librarians write theses and/or journal articles about? I'm sure I will have many more questions as I go along. Again, if there is a better forum than this listserv for more naive questions like this please feel free to let me know. Thank you!
