* Manager of Digital Imaging Lab/Technical Information Analyst Fine Arts Library Harvard College Library* *Duties and Responsibilities:* Manages the Fine Arts Library (FAL) slide scanning operation. Researches developments in electronic imaging and makes recommendations concerning upgrades and/or new purchases. Serves as application developer and programmer for Digital Imaging Program. Serves as Fine Arts Library DRS Digital Projects Coordinator and Liaison to OIS. Works with project and department managers to develop and maintain project and work flow infrastructures. Serves as Senior IT Liaison between the Fine Arts Library and the Harvard College Library Information Technology Services (ITS) office. Supervises three staff members and students. *Education, Experience, Skills: *_Basic Qualifications:_ BS in computer science or equivalent experience and coursework required. Formal knowledge of digital archiving trends, architectures, and current problems and solutions. Practical knowledge of digital imaging and image scripting. Practical knowledge of technical project management strategies. Experience with providing technical services in an art library or visual resource environment, and with software development design. Formal knowledge of bibliographic database theory, architecture and applications. Advanced knowledge of Windows 2000, HCL network topology, MS Access, and FileMaker Pro. Formal knowledge of Macintosh operating systems and hardware. _Additional Requirements: _ MLS and supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of image cataloging standards, tools, and delivery systems, especially OLIVIA and VIA. Knowledge of other Harvard University systems including HOLLIS, ALEPH, DRS deposit tools and procedures. Knowledge of desktop management tools, i.e. CCM, DeepFreeze, Profiles, and Ghost. Knowledge of changing technologies for the creation, delivery and use of digital images in academic teaching in the history of art and architecture.
