August 19 marks the
sesquicentennial of the birth of John Cotton Dana, the second director of The
Newark Public Library, a nationally respected leader in the fields of
librarianship and museum studies, and for almost three decades the primary agent
for the advancement of education and culture in Newark.
The exhibition
will focus on Dana's multi-faceted contributions to the city of
Newark.
