The
Princeton University Library comprises a large central library and 15
specialized libraries that are heavily used by an academic community that
includes 6,400 students and 1,100 faculty members. To support the diverse needs
of its users, the Library holds some 6,500,000 printed volumes, ranging from
incunabula to current imprints, and provides access to many other records of
human knowledge, such as ancient papyri and cylinder seals, nineteenth-century
literary manuscripts, and recently produced electronic databases and journals.
The Library employs more than 300 professional and support personnel,
complemented by a large student and hourly workforce. Please consult the

Description:
The Princeton University Library seeks an energetic and
forward-looking librarian to direct its Marquand Library of Art and
Archaeology. The Marquand Library is located in McCormick Hall in newly
renovated and expanded quarters immediately adjacent to the Department of Art
and Archaeology and the

librarian oversees all aspects of Marquand’s daily operations and plans
for the future growth of its collections and services. The Librarian is
expected to maintain close relationships with
Qualifications:
Required: MLS

Strongly Preferred: Graduate work
in art history, archaeology, or a related field.
Compensation and
Benefits: Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and
accomplishments. Twenty-four vacation days a year, plus eleven paid holidays.
