Virginia Commonwealth University

 

Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia seeks applicants for three new positions in the Research and Reference Services department.  All positions report to the Head of Research and Reference Services.  These three new faculty positions will significantly expand the range of user services offered by the Libraries.  Specific departments will be assigned to the positions based on the successful candidates’ academic preparation and interests

 

 

Reference Librarian for the Behavioral and Social Sciences

Acts as the department’s primary liaison to the School of Education, the School of Social Work, and selected departments in the School of World Studies and the College of Humanities and Sciences, providing high-level research assistance, instruction and outreach to students and faculty.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA-accredited degree or accredited graduate degree in a social and behavioral sciences discipline.

SALARY:  $38,000 minimum.

 

 

Reference Librarian for the Arts

Acts as the department’s primary liaison to the School of the Arts, providing high-level research assistance, instruction and outreach to students and faculty.  In 2005, U.S. News & World Report ranked VCU’s School of the Arts as the number one public university school of arts and design in the country. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA-accredited degree or accredited graduate degree in an arts-related discipline.

SALARY:  $38,000 minimum.

 

 

Reference Librarian for the Humanities

Acts as the department’s primary liaison to selected academic departments in the College of Humanities and Sciences and the School of World Studies, providing high-level research assistance, instruction and outreach to students and faculty.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:  ALA-accredited degree or accredited graduate degree in a humanities discipline.

SALARY:  $38,000 minimum.
