Thank you ARLIS/NA and ARLIS Travel Committee for selecting me to receive the Student Diversity Award for Conference Attendance this year. It enabled me to go to the wonderful BANFF conference which was an experience and honor that I will never forget. I hope to be able to repay this generosity with future service to the association. My university contacted me post-award announcement and asked me to give them more information about ARLIS. To my surprise they posted the information on the front page of the SJSU Library School website http://witloof.sjsu.edu/ . I hope this helps interest more SJSU students in ARLIS. I also appreciated the conference mentor program which helped me get my bearings and feel welcome. Thank you to Heather Ball and Laura for your mentoring. Also to all the people that were so kind to a newcomer.
