Dear colleagues,

 

The Artium Basque Centre-Museum of Contemporary Art Library catalogue is now available on its website at: http://biblioteca.artium.org/indexexterno.html, where users can consult its over 46,000 bibliographic entries. The catalogue dedicates a special section to Comics with information on the library’s over 2,500 copies of issues published from the 1930s until today. 

 

The Artists’ dossier section offers access to updated information on over 100 national and international artists who have exhibited at ARTIUM. Choosing a name from an alphabetic list will take users to a complete file on the artist giving information on his or her biography and work, the exhibitions in which he or she has participated, and the available related resources on the museum website and library. The list of registered artists will continue to grow as new creators come and go at ARTIUM.  

From the Journals contents tables section, you will be able to consult summaries of some of the magazines available in this centre. The summaries are sorted chronologically within the record for each magazine.

Another web service on which we are currently working is the Contemporary Art Resources Guide, http://www.artium.org/ingles/docu_guia.php, a large database containing information on over 1,600 national and foreign bodies of all kinds related to the world of contemporary creation, from museums and art centres to periodical publications, including galleries, libraries, publishing houses, fairs, foundations and specialised search engines and directories. Searching this guide is extremely easy, based on criteria of name and kind of body, city and country. The files retrieved contain complete information on each of the bodies registered, their address, telephone number or web page and a brief description.
