Art Library internships, Whitney Museum of American Art Library

The Whitney Museum Library is seeking library school students to fill two positions as full-time summer interns, June 5 through August 4, 2006.  There are two individual projects planned, one in cataloguing and the other in archives.  Students will also participate in daily activities that occur in a small art library as well as planned lectures and tours planned for other Museum interns.  Persons with a demonstrated interest in art, background in studio art or art history, preferred.

The schedule for the summer internship is five days per week and applicants must be available for nine consecutive weeks of work. There is a small stipend plus two monthly NY Metro cards paid to each intern.  During the program, interns are eligible for regular Museum employee discounts, invitations to Whitney exhibition openings and free admission to most New York City museums.
