According to Michele Laing, the Bruno Zevi article in Architettura does not have any
illustrations. (Alas.)
The article is, however, part of the correct chain. In 1959, Reyner
Banham and Bruno Zevi were arguing about the Neo-Liberty movement—that
group of young Italian architects inspired by Art Nouveau. Zevi was able
to end the discussion triumphantly when he published—in Architettura--the door handle designed by
Victor Horta.. My guess is that there was some to-ing and fro-ing for a
while with Banham publishing in AR and Zevi in Architettura.
It may be that Zevi published the image of the door handle alone, without any
article at all. Michele is, God bless her, going to look further.
Stay tuned.
